Infant Day

Nottingham High School

The School day begins at 8.45am with registration.

Children stay in their class groups for all their lessons. The majority of subjects are taught by their class teacher, although specialist teachers are used for Swimming, Music and Modern Foreign Languages.

During the mornings your child will undertake literacy and numeracy lessons, with a break for milk, fruit and playing outside.

Lunch is held in the Infant School dining hall where the children get a wide choice of meals cooked on site. They are given time to play in the gardens and playground and participate in chosen clubs.

Lessons continue until 3.45pm with an afternoon break. Subjects are taught in an integrated curriculum, usually through a topic or theme, to allow time for play and problem-solving activities to take place. Children also participate in regular assemblies throughout the week.

Children are welcome to attend our After School Club which runs until 5.30pm.
