Nottingham High School

Nottingham High School achieved a record set of A Level Results in 2016 with over 62% of all passes at the highest A* and A grades.  A quite remarkable 37 students have gained 3 A grades or better. The results are the best that the School has ever achieved under the current system of examinations.

With a 99.7% pass rate, this year’s cohort has excelled; 95.9% of passes were at C or above, 89% at B or above. 12 students gained at least 3 A* grades and four gained at least four A* grades.

Kevin Fear, Headmaster, said:

These are a remarkable set of results and they represent a fantastic achievement for our students, their families and all of our staff.  The vast majority of them now will be heading off to some of the best universities in the country.

A total of 7 students have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities and at least 10 have prestigious places to study Medicine or Veterinary Science with others still waiting on final decisions from their chosen university.

We are so proud of what our amazing students have achieved.  Not only have they secured top A Level results but they have been fantastic to work with. They leave us not only with strong exam results but as quietly confident, well-rounded students.  They have thrived in this environment and leave us as such impressive people ready to move on to the world of university and work.
