2017 Results

Nottingham High School achieved a record set of A Level Results in 2017 with over 65.4% of all passes at the highest A* and A grades.  A quite remarkable 38 students have gained 3 A grades or better. The results are the best that the School has ever achieved under the current system of examinations.

With a 100% pass rate, this year’s cohort has excelled; 84.9% achieved a grade B or above and 12 students gained at least 3 A* grades.

Kevin Fear, Headmaster, said:

We are simply thrilled with these outstanding results which show the benefits of our move to co-education.  Girls and boys alike have excelled and can be incredibly proud of their achievements.  For almost two thirds of all of our passes to be at A* or A grade is brilliant and for us to have achieved this with our first co-educational cohort all the more special.

A total of 12 students have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge Universities and at least 12 have prestigious places to study Medicine with others still waiting on final decisions from their chosen university.  The vast majority of our students have gained their first choice of university places.

We are so proud of what our amazing students have achieved.  These results show the huge benefits that our move to coeducation has brought in the classroom.  Our teachers have inspired our students to achieve stunning results but at the same time this same group of students has achieved so much more outside of the classroom. Above all they have become incredibly impressive, quietly confident young people who have been a real pleasure to work with.  I could not be prouder.
