Interim Financial Controller

As part of a dynamic support function for Nottingham High School, the Interim Financial Controller will play an essential role in running the day to day operations of a busy Finance Team, comprising three additional team members, where customer service is of paramount importance. Your financial and accounting expertise will be evident as will your ability to lead a team from the front.

You will also play a key supporting role for the Director of Finance & Operations, preparing short and long term plans and regular management accounts, as well as being able to carry out the all important analysis of performance and be able to succinctly report on this to the Director of Finance and Operations and Governors.

The school is looking to make the best use of human and digital resources to optimise quality and productivity and to provide an outstanding service to internal and external customers.  The role therefore also offers the successful candidate the potential to make a valuable contribution to cross-functional teams working on improvements projects.

In undertaking this role, you will be proactive and capable of working on your own initiative, able to shift priorities and manage a changing workload.  Strong organisational and management skills are essential, along with the ability to be tactful and diplomatic.

As the successful candidate, you will have a Degree/professional qualification and track record of undertaking a Finance role and providing line managerial support at a mid level.

This is an office based role working within the school and it is a whole year, full-time position on a 12 month fixed term contract.  We look forward to hearing from candidates who are excited about digitisation, innovation and change and who want to join a team working in a demanding, varied and rewarding environment.

The salary is up to £50k (depending on qualifications and experience).

The hours are 8am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).
