The top performing schools in the East Midlands have now been revealed in Parent Power, The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2020. We’re very pleased to announce that Nottingham High School has once again been rated the top Independent School in the East Midlands, topping the regional rankings for the third year in a row.

This comes after another fantastic summer of examination results. This year at GCSE level 51.9% of grades were secured at the equivalent of top Grades 8 and 9, which is the School’s highest ever figure since GCSEs stopped being modular. An incredible 14 pupils gained the equivalent of at least ten 8/9 Grades. You can find out more about our GCSE results here.

This year’s A Level cohort also excelled, with a 100% pass rate and 55% of all passes at the highest A* and A grades. A quite remarkable 40 students gained 3 A grades or better. More information about our A Level results can be found here.

Taken with the recent publication of our latest ISI Inspection report rating Nottingham High School as ‘Excellent’ both for Academic Achievement and Personal Development, it has been a fantastic few weeks for the school.

Headmaster Kevin Fear says: “This news shows that the School is thriving; we have record numbers attending and so much to celebrate.  I am very proud of our pupils and staff alike for all the success that the school is currently achieving.”
