Meet the Team

Andrew Holman has been Headmaster at the High School since 2025, having moved from a Headship at another HMC school. He has spent over 30 years in independent education (the last 15 of which have been in senior leadership) across five schools, including a previous stint here at the turn of the century. A Maths teacher by trade, Mr Holman has held academic and pastoral leadership positions and has been heavily involved in Sport, the CCF and DofE, running clubs and accompanying trips, maintaining a keen oversight of what it takes to ensure a rounded education and the development of the whole child. 

Mr Holman is a very keen (but not especially fast) cyclist, a lifelong and long-suffering Newcastle United fan, a lover of loud guitar music, and the owner – as far as Blackadder fans are concerned – of Masters degrees from England’s two great universities. He is married with two grown-up children, both of whom were independently-educated.
