Life at Nottingham High School

From our youngest pupils at Lovell House to our oldest in the Sixth Form, Nottingham High School thrives on curiosity, challenge, encouragement and kindness.

Your child’s wellbeing matters to us as much as it does to you; only if they are happy and confident will they make the most of the doors that are opened for them. This doesn’t just start at the classroom door – we aim to provide the best service from transport to catering and lots in between, ensuring that your child can focus on what’s really important.

“Pupils flourish as part of a community which actively nurtures them”

“Supported by strong leadership and the provision of excellent resources, pupils develop self-confidence, emotional resilience and independence, fulfilling the school’s ambitious aims.” – ISI Inspection Report 2019

Our well-resourced Library is situated in the oldest part of the school and provides a calm environment for study and reading.

It provides up-to-date books, cutting edge e-resources, foreign language and popular DVDs. It supports both recreational and hobby reading alongside extended reading for curriculum subjects and research. Providing daily newspapers and a selection of magazines and journals encourages engagement with current affairs and new developments in Science, IT, Art and Sport.

We provide parents with a range of options for the purchase of school uniform.

It’s important that our students look smart when representing their school community; they are expected to wear their school uniform correctly to and from School, Valley Road and Highfields. Our handy checklists will help you ensure that your child has everything they need.
